Pecheritsa’s £814k Montréal premiere
Club de Foot Montréal have completed the signing of Igor Pecheritsa from Sacramento Republic FC, bringing a new right midfielder into a position that has gone untouched for almost a year.
The deal is done, the new colours are waiting, and Igor Pecheritsa is Montréal-bound. Club de Foot Montréal have signed the 26-year-old right midfielder from Sacramento Republic FC for £814k, giving their neglected flank a fresh face at last.
Nobody has started there since 18 March 2063. Now Pecheritsa has the chance to make the role his own, with the move completed on 17 March 2064. It is a neat fit on paper—and a demanding audition in practice.
The Russian leaves Sacramento after a spell stretching back to 2061/62, having played 112 games and scored six goals for the club. He also had a brief stop at Real Salt Lake and spent much of his earlier career with FC Sochi. Montréal are his fourth club.
Pecheritsa arrives with fair morale and is not happy. Pressure has not always brought out his best. Montréal will want him to settle quickly; he will need to make the vacant berth his own.
The club have landed their man, and Pecheritsa has a clear opening on the right. The spotlight is on. Now comes the part no transfer fee can guarantee: making the shirt his own.
