Fifteen years. Fifty-seven trophies. Four hundred and seventy-eight games. And now, one final payday.

Rogério José has said goodbye to Chelsea and hello to Al-Hilal Saudi Football Club in a £41.7m deal that sends shockwaves through the football world.

The 32-year-old Brazilian legend, one of the biggest names on the planet, has penned terms with the Saudi giants after a glittering spell in west London that began way back in 2048/49.

It's the end of an era at the Bridge. But what an era it was.

José didn't just win at Chelsea. He hoovered up silverware like it was going out of fashion. Fifty-seven major honours. That's more than most clubs manage in a lifetime.

Now he's off to the desert for one last adventure. And let's be honest, the money won't hurt either.

Al-Hilal are getting a player who has seen it all and done it all. Six clubs, 623 appearances, 48 goals at club level. Ninety-five caps for Brazil. A world star who still has plenty left in the tank.

But this isn't just about one man. It's about a trend. The Saudi league has been hoovering up big names for years, and now they've landed one of the biggest.

José joins a growing Chelsea old boys' club at Al-Hilal. Christian Colombo, who spent six years at Chelsea, is already there. Ariel Shimol and Jura Jelenić too. The reunion will be sweet.

For Chelsea, it's a changing of the guard. The club has won 41 straight English Premier Division titles, a dynasty like no other. But even dynasties have to evolve.

José leaves as a legend. A man who gave everything for the blue shirt. The fans will never forget him.

And now, the next chapter begins. In the heat of Saudi Arabia, with the eyes of the world watching, Rogério José will look to add to his incredible trophy haul.

One thing's for sure: Al-Hilal just got a whole lot more interesting.
