Why would a man leave Stuttgart after 340 games? Tomer Mizrahi has his reasons. The 33-year-old defender is back at Hapoel Be'er-Sheva, the club he left in 2053. £3.3m did the deal. No fuss, no drama—just a return to the place that made him.
He never won a trophy in Germany. Then again, he never played for the national team either. But in Be'er-Sheva he joins a side that has just claimed its 13th straight Israeli Premier League title. The old boy is home, and the timing could not be better.
