“Mattéo Blanc loan: Chelsea to Arsenal”
Arsenal have taken Mattéo Blanc from Chelsea on loan for £441k, adding a fresh option in midfield after Steven Igwe’s departure.
Arsenal have landed a promising midfield recruit — and Chelsea have sent him across London. Mattéo Blanc, a 21-year-old central midfielder, joins on loan for £441k. Chelsea’s extraordinary league-title run continues, but Blanc now gets the chance to make his mark in Arsenal colours.
He arrives with a strong creative case: five goals and ten assists in 33 Eredivisie games for FC Utrecht last season, a return highlighted in July. But there is no empty throne at Arsenal. Steven Igwe has left for AS Monaco, while Nicola Nigretti, James Sarfo and Vander Lúcio each made 31 league starts across the last two seasons. Blanc must now make his claim among them.
