Moruzzi’s £505k Move: Corinthians Make Their Volta Face
Sport Club Corinthians Paulista have signed attacking midfielder Arlindo Moruzzi from Volta Redonda FC for £505k, adding a new contender for the starting role.

Can £505k buy Corinthians a fresh attacking-midfield option? Sport Club Corinthians Paulista have their answer: Arlindo Moruzzi, signed from Volta Redonda FC on Thursday, joins a position where four players have been used since 1 July.
There is one starting place in the role. Dionísio has made four starts there and scored twice; Renato has started three times and scored once, while Marcelo has three starts and Allan Vaz one. Moruzzi now joins that contest, bringing experience to a club with a clear choice to make.
The Brazilian is 32 and arrives after a spell at Volta Redonda that began in 2061/62. He made 99 appearances for the club and scored eight goals. The change is a step from the Brazilian National First Division to the Brazilian National Second Division, where Corinthians are looking to make Moruzzi part of their plans.
He brings a substantial career behind him: 384 club games and 73 goals across five clubs. His longest spell was at NAU, where he played 271 times and scored 64 goals between 2056/57 and 2060/61. At Corinthians, he will be competing for a starting place in the attacking-midfield role.
There is a familiar face waiting in the opposite camp, too. Bruno, now at Volta Redonda FC, spent 2046/47 to 2064/65 at Corinthians, playing 317 games, scoring 21 goals and winning two trophies. Moruzzi’s departure gives that old connection a new edge, even as the newcomer begins his own Corinthians story.
Corinthians have 60 major titles, and won the Brazilian São Paulo State Championship in 2063. The club’s latest scouting report, published today, focused on 16-year-old Sandro da Rosa. But the immediate headline belongs to a completed deal: Moruzzi has signed, the fee is agreed, and a new contender has arrived for the attacking-midfield role.
