Is Dovev Guma off to Saudi?

Al-Hilal and Ponferrada are circling Hertha Berlin's Israeli playmaker, and the Bundesliga side may have a decision to make.

Two clubs want him. One is a Saudi giant, the other a Spanish upstart. And Hertha Berlin might have to cash in.

Dovev Guma, Hertha's 34-year-old midfield maestro, is on the radar of Al-Hilal Saudi Football Club and Ponferrada. That's the word this morning, and it's not just paper talk. The interest is real, and it's coming from two very different directions.

Al-Hilal are shopping big. Their list has 41 names on it. Guma is one of them. The Saudi side have the cash to make a splash, and a 34-year-old with 80 Israel caps and 601 Hertha appearances might just be the kind of marquee signing they crave. But don't sleep on Ponferrada. The Spanish club are in the mix too, and they've got their own plans.

Guma isn't cheap. He's on £160,000 a week at Hertha, and his deal runs until 30 June 2065. That's a big contract for a player who joined from Maccabi Haifa back in 2048 for a mere £2.0m. Sixteen years later, he's a club legend. 153 goals for Hertha. 679 club games overall. A big name abroad.

But Hertha might listen. The German capital club have won 18 major titles, but the last few weeks have been bumpy. Guma missed time in September with a sports hernia, and the club have been juggling injuries. Robson went down with a groin strain. Mikail Keskin lost his spot. It's been a patchwork season.

Still, losing Guma would sting. The fans love him. The dressing room respects him. And his departure would leave a hole in the midfield that no amount of Saudi cash can instantly fill.

Hertha have a decision to make. Sell now and reinvest? Or keep the icon and risk losing him for nothing in 2065? The clock is ticking.

Al-Hilal or Ponferrada? The next few weeks will tell. But one thing's for sure: the vultures are circling, and Hertha better have a plan.
