A free transfer signed in July has spent the autumn quietly passing a landmark, and Palmeiras have the seventh goal of his season to show for it.

"He just keeps arriving," is how the touchline put it, and the numbers agree. João Victor's 205th club goal, his seventh of this 2063/64 season in 16 games for Palmeiras, carries him past 200 across 575 appearances for five clubs since 2046/47.
The spread is the story: 99 goals in 242 games at VDG, then 91 in 254 at Ponferrada, with smaller deposits at U Craiova 1948 CS, Leeds United and now Palmeiras. A forward who has never relied on one address to keep scoring.
