The London Stadium lights just got a whole lot brighter. West Ham United have smashed their transfer record to bring Vedat Dogan across the capital, splashing £38m on the Turkish midfielder as they prepare for life back in the Premier Division.

Dogan arrives after five seasons at Rotherham, where he made 81 league appearances and became a firm fan favourite. The 25-year-old, capped 41 times by his country, now joins a Hammers side already boosted by the captures of Brady Vella and Martyn Kirkpatrick from the same club. It’s a Rotherham reunion in East London, and the fans are already dreaming of fireworks.
