How many goals does it take to become Reading's greatest scorer? Antônio Minatel supplied the answer on 6 October 2063: 112, three more than the 109 that had kept Ariel Sosa at the summit.
The Brazilian's five goals this season did the shifting, and the club's seventh major title sits in the cabinet alongside it. "You don't aim for a number," Minatel said. "You aim for the next game." Reading's support, who have watched a familiar name carry their colours well beyond these borders, may allow themselves a glance at the ledger: 112, and the next one is already the property of the man who owns the line.
