Port Vale lift FA Trophy

Port Vale claimed the English FA Trophy for the first time with a 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic.

For Port Vale, the FA Trophy final was about more than a piece of silverware. It was a chance to end a wait that had stretched across the club’s history, to finally write their name on a national honour. Oldham Athletic, equally hungry and from the same fifth tier, stood in their way.

On a sunlit Wembley afternoon, Vale seized their moment early. Ryan Donnellan struck in the 14th minute, and Alexandre Kamagaté doubled the lead before half-time. Oldham, with former Vale man Luke Williams among their ranks, could find no way back. As the final whistle blew, the celebrations began – a first FA Trophy for Port Vale, and a day their supporters will never forget.
