In football, even the most carefully assembled plans can be undone by one awkward absence. RC Lens must now redraw theirs without Claudiu Filip, whose hip injury has put the right-back out of action for an estimated 74 days.
Filip was injured on 15 September and is expected back around 28 November, though that date remains a medical estimate, not a promise. Lens are set to miss him for eight club games. He has yet to feature for the club this season; they will now have to manage without him at right-back.
