Olmos Down Under: Sydney Land Spanish Striker on Loan
Sydney FC have brought Iván Olmos from Fuenlabrada on loan for a fee of £385k, adding another striker to the mix.

£385k is the price of Sydney FC’s latest attacking arrival: Iván Olmos, signed on loan from Fuenlabrada on 11 September. The Spanish striker is now in the Isuzu UTE A-League, with a place up front to fight for.
Olmos joins Andrew Oyangwa, Francis Colbert and Gorka Díez in Sydney’s striker competition. Oyangwa started 22 league matches, Colbert 18 and Díez 15 over the last two seasons. Those are three established options for the new arrival to challenge, not a velvet rope waiting to swing open.
The move takes Olmos from Spain’s second division to Australia’s top flight. He has played for three clubs across a career spanning from 2054/55 to 2063/64, scoring 27 goals in 133 club matches. Now comes a fresh stage in Sydney blue, with the loan giving him a chance to make his case in a new competition.
For Fuenlabrada, the deal sends their striker abroad; for Sydney, it adds another name to the forward picture. Olmos arrives without a guaranteed starting berth, but with a clear prize in view: win his place among Oyangwa, Colbert and Díez and turn this loan into a starring role.
