£2.4m: Frosinone Bring Jaklitsch from Fortuna Sittard
Frosinone have signed Paul Jaklitsch from Fortuna Sittard in a move that brings an Austrian to Serie A and reunites him with an old Fortuna face.
£2.4m is the price of Frosinone’s latest wager: Paul Jaklitsch, signed from Fortuna Sittard on 15 August. The 29-year-old Austrian leaves the Eredivisie for Italian Serie A, and Frosinone gain a new voice in a league where every arrival carries the promise of drama and the threat of betrayal by fortune.
There is a thread of old familiarity in the deal. Nicolae Liheţ, now at Frosinone, played for Fortuna Sittard from 2049/50 to 2056/57. He made 38 appearances there and scored once. Now the paths of former Fortuna teammates cross again in Italy, with Jaklitsch taking up a new chapter alongside a player who knows that club from the inside.
For Frosinone, the message is plain: £2.4m spent, a new signing secured, and the work of turning promise into performance begins. The south will watch with its customary passion; Jaklitsch must now answer the call in Serie A.
