Rest Romero Before Inter’s Tired Legs Become a Bigger Problem
Five games in 30 days have left Braian Romero jaded, and Deivisson dos Santos must choose between giving him proper rest and risking a player whose recent ratings have dipped.

“Give him a week away from the side,” is the blunt choice confronting Deivisson dos Santos. Braian Romero has played five times in the past 30 days for FC Internazionale Milano, across the Italian Serie A and UEFA Champions League, and the left winger is worn down by weeks of football.
This is not the ordinary heaviness a day off can lift. Romero’s condition calls for a proper spell out, a week or two, while Inter’s next 14 days contain only one game. The calendar offers a rare chance to let the tiredness clear. Why gamble with a player’s legs when the schedule is offering room to breathe?
The recent numbers sharpen the case. Romero’s average rating across those five appearances is 6.71, down from 7.53 for the season. That is a marked drop for a player whose consistency has been part of his value. His morale remains superb and he is delighted, but enthusiasm cannot erase accumulated fatigue.
Inter’s European campaign ended this month, after a difficult run for Italy’s clubs. The club has no Champions League game ahead in this window, and one fixture in the next fortnight is hardly a reason to push a jaded player through. Dos Santos, in charge since August 2063, must decide whether the short-term temptation to keep Romero involved is worth the longer wait for him to recover.
Romero is 30, ambitious and a professional who has made himself available wherever asked. That reliability should not become a trap. Inter need him at his season’s level, not merely present in the team; the sensible call is to stand him down and give his legs the real rest they are asking for.
