"He can make a difference"

"He can make a difference," said a club insider, with the sort of deadpan assurance that suggests the cheque has already cleared. And so Andrei Coman, 24, leaves Bucharest for the Loire, a £6.3m transaction that adds another Romanian export to Ligue 1's growing collection.

Coman arrives with a modest three goals in 267 club appearances, the kind of defensive solidity that rarely troubles the scorers. Nantes, flush from Eurico Tavares's record-breaking exploits, clearly feel the back line needs a touch more grit. FCSB, meanwhile, continue their summer fire sale, having already shipped Bogdan Ana to Sheffield United and Luciano Alfonso to Argentina. One wonders if there's a loyalty card for repeat customers.
