Lunney Banks £1.2m a Week!

"I came for a new challenge and the club made me feel wanted from day one," beamed Tiarnan Lunney.

The Irish wizard is the latest superstar to cash in on the Saudi gold rush, and boy has he hit the jackpot. Al-Hilal are paying Lunney a staggering £1,200,000 a week. That's right, every single week.

It's a king's ransom for a man who once couldn't get a game at Chelsea. Lunney managed just two appearances for the Blues in five years. Two games, zero goals. Now look at him.

Back then, a £32.5m move to Bayern München in 2051 changed everything. Eleven trophy-laden years in Germany, 439 games, 111 goals. A legend. And now, the payday to end all paydays.

To put it in perspective, Chelsea's best-paid player earns £390,000 a week. Lunney is banking more than triple that. For a player Chelsea let go for £32.5m.

Al-Hilal signed Lunney from Bayern on 23 June 2062 for £17m. A snip. The deal runs until 30 June 2064, and every week until then, Lunney's bank account swells by £1.2m.

At 36, the Irish maestro is showing no signs of slowing down. He's already played 45 games for Al-Hilal, scoring 8 goals. Not bad for a pensioner, eh?

Lunney's total career numbers are mind-boggling: 623 club games, 145 goals, 99 caps for Ireland, 32 international goals. A true great of the game.

But it's the weekly wage that has everyone talking. £1.2m. For kicking a ball around. Lunney is laughing all the way to the bank, and who can blame him?

Al-Hilal are building a super team, and they're paying super wages. Lunney joins the likes of Christian Colombo and Rogério José in Riyadh. All on mega money.

It's a far cry from Lunney's early days at Derby County, where he made 51 appearances and scored 11 goals. From Derby to the desert, via Chelsea, Bournemouth, Spurs and Bayern. What a journey.

And now, the ultimate reward. £1.2m a week. Tiarnan Lunney, take a bow.
