Molde's Quiet Young Defender

Our scouts watched Karl Castellanos closely and saw a player whose reading of the game could carry him far.

"He sees it before anyone else," a Molde coach said of Karl Castellanos, and the scouts who watched the 16-year-old this season agree. What stands out is not speed or strength but anticipation: the way he adjusts his position a half-second before the ball is played, the decisions that look simple because they are made early. In his one appearance for Molde FK this season, he showed bravery in the challenge and a calm that belied his years.

Castellanos came through the club's youth intake and has made eight senior appearances since 2062/63. One scout noted privately that he could step into the first team tomorrow. That may be optimistic, but the traits are real: positioning, courage, and a mind that reads the game. Molde, with their recent cup run still going, may have a quiet gem.
