Sefronovic Faces His Own
Frankfurt's loaned midfielder returns to Wolfsburg with a thin squad, tired legs and a defence that keeps outshooting its luck.

Sixteen. Eintracht Frankfurt have scored sixteen goals fewer than their chances suggest they should have this season, and on 24 November they meet a Wolfsburg side whose own numbers flatter them just as much. Both clubs sit above their expected points; only one can keep pretending.
The visitors' shape is settled — 4-3-3 DM Wide, as in every recent game — but the legs are not. Tion Greppmeir, Thorsten Erkinger and Jon García are all short of condition, and with Alex Busby out until around this fixture, Frankfurt's front line looks thin. Reuven Sefronovic, on loan from Wolfsburg after 373 games there, returns to old ground at 77 per cent. Wolfsburg's Eduardo Giddens has five goals in three games; Frankfurt's defence must find an answer. Expect Erkinger's pace against Faustino Funes to be the duel that decides it.
