1 win in 12: Luton cross the divide with their season slipping

Watford sit sixth and comfortable; Luton, bottom and beaten in each of the last three derbies, arrive needing something their form has not offered.

Watford have ground to protect and little room for error: sixth on 19 points, but tenth on expected points, a side living a little above its means. Luton have the opposite problem. Bottom with six points from 12 games, four fewer than their chances deserved, eight goals from 10.7 expected — a team that keeps making the openings and keeps wasting them.

Köpf, who once managed Luton, is without Creith, Foguinho and Zeitel, so the likely 4-4-2 leans on Westwood and Dimas Maia Costa, the latter against Liam Kremer in the duel to watch. Luton's 4-4-2 has brought two wins in 14, and Alberto carries a tired side's threat down the left. Brogna's height gives him the edge over Westwood in the air. José Carlos, once of Watford, misses out with a twisted ankle.
