Can a defence hold what a forward line cannot break? For 65 minutes Perugia's back line said yes, until Fausto Brenna, sent on at the interval, finally found the equaliser in a 1-1 draw.
Francesco Iacoviello had given Perugia the lead on 28 minutes, and Felix Helmes, outstanding all afternoon, kept Torino at bay with four tackles and five interceptions. Torino dominated the ball and hit the woodwork twice, but lacked a cutting edge until Brenna's intervention. The point keeps the rivalry simmering; Perugia will feel they earned it, Torino will know they let two slip.
