Forsell Leaves Sweden Wanting More

Albin Forsell's farewell season at Malmö FF is turning into a farewell tour of the Swedish Premier Division's defences, and Paris Saint-Germain will be watching closely.

"He makes the rest of us look like we're standing still," a Malmö regular said on the terraces, and the numbers bear him out: 15 goals and 5 assists in 16 league games, a rating of 7.63, a side built around a 21-year-old who has already agreed to leave.

Forsell joined Paris Saint-Germain from Malmö on 26 July for £4.3m and returned on loan, so every home match now carries a double edge: the crowd savours what it has and counts down to what it loses. Three months after his move, he has four games and two goals for his new club, and 47 goals in 101 Malmö appearances behind him. Sweden have capped him 12 times; he has scored 7. Malmö's title runs ended long ago; the pull of one player has not.
