4 Games, 12 Points: Lazio’s Perfect Opening Rolls On
S.S. Lazio have stretched their lead at the top of Serie A with a 5-0 win over Cosenza, while the table begins to divide beneath them.

S.S. Lazio have made four matches feel like a declaration: four wins, 12 points and a 5-0 defeat of Cosenza. The Roman side lead Serie A by three points, and their +9 goal difference gives this early command a convincing flourish. Destiny has not been settled in September, but Lazio have seized the opening act without dropping a note.
The closest pursuers are U.S. Sassuolo, perfect after three games on nine points, with Juventus and FC Internazionale Milano next on seven. Juventus swept Udinese Calcio aside 4-0, while Inter drew 1-1 away to Roma. AC Milan beat Perugia 3-1 and sit fifth, three points behind Lazio after three matches.
There was operatic disorder in Frosinone, where Napoli drew 4-4 and both sides remain without a win. Bari climbed from 12th to seventh with a 2-1 victory at Cittadella; Fiorentina rose from 13th to eighth after beating Atalanta 1-0. Bologna made the biggest leap, from 20th to 14th, with a 3-0 win at Empoli. Juventus moved from seventh to third; Roma, by contrast, fell from fifth to 10th after their draw with Inter.
Lazio are among six unbeaten teams, alongside Sassuolo, Juventus, Inter, Torino and Roma. At the other end, Cittadella and Udinese have no points from three games; Cosenza have one and have slipped to 18th after their heavy loss in Rome. Frosinone, Crotone and Perugia are also still seeking a first win.
The table remains young, but Lazio’s start has force. Their next named test is Atalanta away on 30 September: the first chance to carry this early authority beyond the capital and keep the pursuers listening for a stumble.
