Track Vidošević’s next step after Dinamo’s 32-game season

Now 21, the Croatian is already stepping into a different setting; the value of that move will be judged by what comes next, not by the size of the fee alone.

His 7.34 average rating points to a campaign of dependable contribution rather than a story built around goals. Dinamo won the Croatian First League in 2062/63, ending a wait that had followed their 15 consecutive titles from 2045/46 to 2059/60. Vidošević was part of a side restoring its grip on the domestic prize, and his 32 league games suggest he was trusted throughout that push.

He had already built a substantial body of work in Zagreb: 125 appearances and 18 goals for Dinamo. The £12.8m transfer, completed on 6 January, took him to Leipzig, where he has made 41 appearances, scored five goals and provided seven assists in all competitions this season. That is an early foothold, not yet a settled destination.

The German Daily quoted him after the move as saying Leipzig was where he wanted to win things. His ambition is clear; the patient part is making himself indispensable in a new club. Close to manager Lorenzo Bernasconi, he has a trusted relationship to lean on as he adapts. A good next step need not be spectacular: more regular football, more responsibility, and proof that his Dinamo consistency travels with him. The leap from Zagreb is made. The work of turning promise into a place at Leipzig is only beginning.
