Could the first leg of the Copa Libertadores preliminary round have gone any better for the home sides? On Thursday, four South American clubs took a step towards the group stage, and only one away team left without conceding.
Azul y Blanco Millonarios Fútbol Club S.A. beat Defensor Sporting Club 3-1, and Asociación Atlética Argentinos Juniors beat América de Cali S.A. 3-1 as well.
The second legs will be played next week, and the aggregate winners will advance to the next preliminary round. For now, the three home winners hold comfortable advantages, while the tie in Brazil remains wide open.
